    What little is known about the first John Tope may be found by clicking on the History link in the left-hand column.  This page gives more information about the Core family referenced in the History [note 1].
    Since the name of John Tope's wife is not known, she is referred to here as "Widow Tope."
    After John Tope died, his widow married a man by the name of Core. She died about 1810 in Richmond, Jefferson Co., Ohio according to one source, or Yellow Creek, Jefferson Co., Ohio [note 2].

 Children of Core and Widow (Tope) Core are [note 3]:

1. Jacob Core.
2. John Core.
3. Elizabeth Core died  in Morgan Co., Ohio.  She first married John Huston in Redstone, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania, and had one child:
   
   1. Lucretia Huston was born 21 April 1796 in  Pennsylvania, and died 22 March 1888 in Monroe, Carroll Co., Ohio [note 4].  She married William Moreland [note 5] on 1 June 1820 in Jefferson Co., Ohio [note 6].  He was born 21 February 1790 in  Pennsylvania [note 7], and died 21 December 1861 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note 8].
   
   
   Lucretia and William had six children:
   1. John Moreland was born  18 May 1821 in Richmond, Jefferson Co., Ohio and died 15 April 1898 in Palermo, Carroll Co., Ohio.  He married Isabella Bell Simpson on 31 August 1882 in  Harrison Co., Ohio.
   2.  Enoch Moreland  was born  1 December 1826 in Jefferson Co., Ohio, and died 10 July 1902 in Palermo, Carroll Co., Ohio.  He married Margaret Logan on 3 March 1853, Carroll, Ohio [note 9].  Margaret was born in1829 in Carroll Co., Ohio, and died 7 March 1887 in Orange Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio.
   3. Thomas Moreland  was born  23 April 1828 in Richmond, Jefferson Co., Ohio, and died 13 November 1894 in Bowerston, Harrison Co., Ohio.  He married Nancy Long on 13 January 1853 in Carroll, Ohio [note 10] was born  1832, Ohio8and died in 1912, Bowerston, Harrison Co., Ohio.
   4. Elizabeth Moreland was born  22 June 1828 in Richmond, Jefferson Co., Ohio, and died 16 January 1929 in Orange Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio. She married John May on 7 October 1852 in Carroll Co., Ohio [note 11] John was born  11 August 1830 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania, and died 26 May 1895 in Carroll Co., Ohio.
   5. Margaret J. Moreland was born  28 February 1832 in Carroll Co., Ohio, and died 22 August 1898, Palermo, Carroll Co., Ohio.
   6. Mary Ellen Moreland  was born  29 February 1836 in Union Co., Carroll Co., Ohio, and died 26 March 1923, Union Co., Carroll Co., Ohio. She married John G. Brooks on 25 November 1858 in Carroll, Ohio [note 12].  He was born  7 January 1835, Carroll Co., Ohio, and died 28 January 1905 in Carroll Co., Ohio.
   
   Elizabeth married (2) Benjamin Hough after 1861.    She married (3) John Deems, who died  in Morgan Co., Ohio [note 9].
